Champagne Wine Glass Black and WHITE Twisted is a 2017 novelty from the Fatto a Mano collection, which literally translates from Italian as "handmade". The Austrian company Riedel draws inspiration from traditional Italian glass-working technologies in this collection, implementing them with care and precision in its glassworks.

On one hand, the imprint of tradition is clearly visible on this glass, while on the other, it retains the features so typical of the Riedel brand: a specific body shape according to individual wine varieties, very fine, thin-blown walls, purity of form without unnecessary decoration, and an elegant slender stem.

Real champagne and other sparkling wines deserve to let both their lightness and delicate aroma, as well as their irresistible and uplifting effervescence, shine through. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for the glass to have the right shape, which will allow you to enjoy an endless, light stream of fine bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass to your lips.

The Champagne region, where real champagne originates, is the northernmost wine-growing region of France. The combination of local chalky soils and a unique climate contributes to the natural effervescence of white wines for which the region is so well known. Secondary fermentation in the bottle has been used for sparkling wines since the 19th century, when sweet, sparkling dessert champagne produced with the addition of syrup became very popular. It was commonly served in coupe-style glasses; so-called flutes gained popularity to prevent spilling at standing receptions. Around 1930, the currently popular dry champagne appeared, which Riedel recommends serving in a flute-type glass, as it best highlights the delicate aromas of the premium wines from which they are made. In coupes or small, overfilled glasses, this distinguished bouquet is unfortunately lost.
